Professor Changwei Wu specializes in functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) technique to explore brain functions and neurophysiology for mental health. His current research focuses on the simultaneous recordings of Electroencephalography (EEG) and fMRI, and wearable devices to investigate brain functionality in spontaneous conditions, such as sleep and music listening, addressing how unconscious brain dynamics shape our cognition, emotion and behavior in our daily life. Secondly, Professor Wu also investigates long-term neuroplasticity, utilizing functional neuroimaging to validate the effectiveness of interventions such as mindfulness meditation and music therapy in promoting physical and psychological health (such as stroke, insomnia, and depression). Professor Wu is now acting as the director of Graduate Institute of Mind, Brain and Consciousness (GIMBC) at Taipei Medical University, who is also a mindfulness instructor certified by the Taiwan Mindfulness Development Association (TMDA), actively engaging in cognitive and clinical neuroscience related to the promotion of sleep quality and mental health.
